Meet Anthony
Anthony Lee Vos, 13, loved working hard and playing hard—skateboarding, building ramps, building models, playing video games, pulling pranks, reading, hanging out with friends, entertaining his younger cousins, teasing his brother, traveling, being outdoors, playing and composing music on his electric guitar, and enjoying many other interests. His favorite author was Gary Paulsen. He had an artistic eye and already had a talent for photography and creating videos.
Anthony was filled with curiosity, always wanting to know about things and how they worked. He was full of mischief and loved to find the humor in everything.
In May of 2005, Anthony had just completed 7th grade at South O'Brien and was looking forward to entering the eighth grade in the fall.
On June 17, 2005, 13-year-old Anthony Vos was killed in a crash caused by a reckless, unlicensed motorcycle driver who has wrecked at least 4 more motorcycles since 2005. [1]
Acts of Kindness: RAOK for ALV

On the soul-crushing anniversary of Anthony's death, a friend once offered a challenge, to stand up on this heavy day and do things that bring light and happiness to others, in memory of Anthony. He was a freckle-nosed monkey, hilarious, creative and impish, and he loved to surprise people with simple acts of kindness and humor.
Grandma Remembers: Separation
From Grandma Kuiper, 11/3/2005
I was privileged to spend a lot of time with Anthony during his first 5 years or so. I found out quite soon how "attached" to him I was.
When Anthony was almost a year old I traveled with him and his mom on their first move to Jacksonville, NC.
Evan Remembers: Anthony Saving Baxter
Evan has a stuffed animal that has been passed down from his mom to Anthony to him. Baxter the puppy looks pretty rough by now... he's been stitched up a couple of times and had to have his nose replaced a few years ago.
Dad Remembers: Flat Tires
From Dad, 10/7/2005
OK, here it goes... remember I'm not an English major... unless a "D" on the report card meant "damn good."
We used to live in Sanborn in the late 1990s, and I had to drive to Spencer every day to where I worked.
Unkel B: Stained Glass Window
From Unkel B, 6/17/2009
In our lives, we saw each other in bursts,
In quick, stolen moments of time,
Bonds shared by others,
Then splintered into shining shards
That somehow show unity rather than brokenness,
And uniquely complete us and show us
Why we are together,
Why we cling to each other
Even when we’re apart.
When September Ends - Piano
